Role Objective
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth within the region by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities, while strengthening relationships with existing clients. The role plays a key part in delivering the regional strategy through disciplined pipeline management, market intelligence, and proactive client engagement.
Operating within defined governance, commercial, and risk frameworks, the post holder exercises delegated authority to progress opportunities that align with agreed strategy, financial targets, and compliance requirements. Working closely with the Regional Director and operational teams, the Business Development Manager ensures that growth opportunities are commercially viable, operationally deliverable, and aligned with the company’s long‑term objectives, including diversification as the energy transition accelerates.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities in line with the regional strategy and agreed growth targ
- Build and maintain strong, long‑term client relationships, acting as a key commercial point of contact.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and well‑structured CRM records, ensuring a robust and transparent pipeline of opporunities.
- Prepare and present commercial proposals, tenders, and presentations, coordinating input from operational and technical teams as required.
- Work collaboratively with the Regional Director and internal teams to support the delivery of the regional strategy, including diversification into new markets, services, or geographies.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments, providing commercial insight and intelligence to senior leadership.
- Support pricing strategies and commercial negotiations within agreed authority levels.
- Attend client meetings, industry events, conferences, and exhibitions to promote the company’s services and reputation.
- Ensure all business development activities are conducted in compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.
- Liaise closely with operational teams to ensure opportunities are operationally feasible, safely deliverable, and aligned with resource capacity.
- Demonstrate visible safety leadership by ensuring commercial activities and client commitments align with the company’s safety culture, Life Saving Rules, and operational risk controls, and by reinforcing safe ways of working in all internal and external engagements.

- Maintain accurate and auditable commercial records to support governance and review requirements.

- Act as a first point of escalation for commercial issues relating to clients or prospects.
- Influence internal decision‑making through sound commercial judgement and evidence‑based recommendations.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience in a business development or commercial role within a relevant industry.
- Strong understanding of ship‑to‑ship transfer operations and the associated regulatory and compliance environment.
- Demonstrable experience managing a CRM system and producing accurate pipeline and forecast reports.
- Degree‑level qualification or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Ability to engage confidently with senior clients and internal stakeholders, articulating commercial and technical matters clearly and credibly.

- Experience within maritime, energy, offshore, or logistics sectors.
- Exposure to international or multi‑jurisdictional markets.
- Track record of supporting business diversification or entry into new markets.
