Balaji Santhanam

Balaji began his maritime career in 1990, completing three years of pre-sea training at the prestigious Training Ship Rajendra and earning a BSc in Nautical Sciences.

From 1993 to 2012, he sailed on oil tankers, progressing from Junior Officer to Master, and spent over seven years as Master on Suezmax and Aframax tankers.

In April 2012, Balaji transitioned ashore to pursue his long-standing ambition of becoming an STS Mooring Master, leveraging his experience in the lightering trade in the US Gulf from 1999 to 2006.

Since joining STS Marine Solutions in May 2017, he has dedicated over 13 years to STS operations as a Mooring Master, ensuring safety and operational excellence in every transfer.
